The Sustainable Cycling Symposium (SCS) Project

Client - Plymouth City Council (PCC) 
Fee - £32,620 (Crowdfunder)

Combating Climate Change by complete cycling enhancement. The Sustainable Cycling Symposium (SCS) links up multiple services in one location by coordinating strategic local events  across the great ocean city of Plymouth. 

By focussing on Safety, Security & Sustainability, SCS brings the following benefits:

  • Improves air quality & decreases use of  harmful fossil fuels,  
  • Maximises infrastructure, 
  • Ensures a second life for disused bicycles (driving down waste),
  • Improves health & wellbeing of city residents, 
  • Enhances road user & pedestrian safety 
  • Drives down cycle crime. 

After securing required funds by placing 2nd in the 2021 #backthefuture Plymouth City Council Climate Change competition, Recro Vida have now completed 8/12 events.

Final sessions will take place on Thursday 25th & Friday 26th August and Thursday 1st & Friday 2nd September at the Community Climate Hub, 67 New George Street, Plymouth (10:00-16:00).

Carbon Net Zero Workshops

Devon & Plymouth Chamber of Commerce

A programme of 4 lunch & learn style training workshops hosted in partnership with the Devon & Plymouth Chamber of Commerce. Participants will progress from a limited knowledge of climate change and carbon emissions, to delivering on a Carbon Net Zero Positive strategy for their business. 

SME Responsible Business Workshop

Client: Social Starters invited 
Fee: £300

Recro Vida facilitated a workshop for 15 SME's focussed around Responsible Business. SME's were coached through the principles of what it means to be a responsible business & how it can aid with growth of the company. The session had a specific focus on Sustainability and SME's finished the session with a progressed Carbon Net 0 Policy to ensure the session provided a useful output.

Employability Workshops

Client: Beregen CIC
Fee: £1,200

Recro Vida utilised an existing relationship to participate in a wider programme of employability sessions for local people in Dartmoor area of Devon. 

Two cohorts of people currently unemployed were trained over one 6 hour and town 3 hour workshops to accommodate individual situations.

Recro Vida has established a relationship with the Sustainability & Environmental course leads at UoP. RV have been invited to deliver a lecture at the university on a combined MSc degree programme at the university: Professional Practice. RV will give an overview of their career to date, routes in to industry as well as focussing specifically on industry topics of Sustainable Construction, Life Cycle Analysis & Corporate Social Responsibility.

BRIC Plymouth Flood Consultancy

Recro Vida's expertise in the build & natural environment was requested to assist in a series of landscape design works in central Plymouth. The Building Resilience In Communities (BRIC) team are currently delivering a series of flood prevention & afforestation works in the heart of the Plymouth community. Recro Vida have been engaged to give design and project management advise & guidance. This work is being delivered for the end client Plymouth City Council (PCC).
